Well THIS tosses Descartes upside-down, doesn’t it? Or would Cartesians cling to the notion that we have this need for attachment because God planted it there?

Personally, I’m still a believer. But I also think religion isn’t a necessary precursor to leading a moral life, and this research points that direction as well.
